Everyone should have a pet project — for good reasons.
Last April, I built a simple static site generator called "April⋅SSG" to power my blog. I've tried different blogging tools for over a decade, but none of them really satisfied me. So I decided to build my own with the help of Copilot — and it proudly powers my blog today.
It's a very simple and lightweight tool. But building it gave me two things: a great learning experience and a deep sense of satisfaction — the "good reasons" I mentioned earlier.
That's why I believe everyone should have a pet project. Build something you've always wanted to build. It doesn't have to be big or complex — just start; you have all the AI tools today to kickstart things. Along the way, you will learn a lot, and seeing your idea come to life brings a different kind of satisfaction.
